Several things may cause this issue. Please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot.

Step1. Ensure you have internet access when you sign up for the TP-Link ID.

Step2. Confirm you have entered a valid e-mail address and password. Please do not use special characters such as &, ~, %, space, etc.

Step3. Troubleshoot if you can’t receive the activation e-mail when signing up for the TP-Link ID.

Step4. If you find the error prompt “The email has been registered”, it means the email is registered as a TP-Link ID. Use this email and its password to log into any TP-Link app (e.g., Tapo, Tether, or Deco). Create a new password if you forget the TP-Link ID password.

Note: All TP-Link apps (e.g., Tapo, Tether, or Deco) share a single TP-Link ID. You only need to register your email once, then you can use the same login for every TP-Link app.
